Born to Rochester, New York, Sharp was a music enthusiast and studied the clarinet, piano, and cello at the prestigious Hochstein School of Music. The Boston Conservatory offered her grants for her school's theatre. Cum Laude, where she was awarded an B.F.A. Sharp's initial focus was on the stage.
