Beth Hart is a Los Angeles native and blues-singing rock star. She was a street entertainer and first made her appearance with Immortal in the year 1995. Her frank, open performance, emotional and empathetic live performances attracted the attention of many. Chuck Taylor, Billboard's October 2nd issue stated that Hart is "the the epitomize of a natural woman" and described her as "bawdy and funny, chatty and witty with her selection of spicy languages, free-wheeling and free-wheeling." But that's white bread compared to her onstage presence that is where the tall, elegant singer/songwriter strides and screams out songs with the vim that is Mick Jagger .... At times, she's taken her seat at the piano or on the center stage, where she sits without a hint of pretense, with her legs crossed over the sides of the chair, uttering a scream that's so delicate and hurt, you wonder whether she's about to break down, or in the event that you do. "Drawing emotions like this since the time she performed on stage for contests with amateurs as teenagers, Hart nonetheless experienced misgivings about the business side of music when her career finally began to take off. However, traveling the world over proved to be detrimental to her band and Hart was ostracized for almost four years. This was a period introspection and tackling problems through writing music. Hart was determined to give her professional career another chance, and came back in 1999 with Screamin' for My Supper.
