Niykee continues to write songs despite having been swept up in the latest turmoil. She was hand-picked for the YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and the rapper was with her on stage. As a producer magnet, Niykee is constantly looking through the numerous beats being sent to her. She finds that most of them spark new songs. She claims that she is able to discern if a beat is great in only 5 seconds. Then, a new track will come into her mind. My guitar is on the back of my porch and I'll let my thoughts flow. It's usually done within 30 minutes. Niykee keeps working on her abilities as a poet and the lyricist. She says that her experiences of suffering in the past can be a sources of motivation. Even when she is not writing about events that have actually happened every ache from childhood and loss of her sister find its way into music. The memories influence my songs and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is one the most important things to me--I need to know that I could listen to any of my songs 20 years down the road and feel proud of the things I had to say.
